[pre-sermon note on Fr Nyquist's example of caring for the poor.]
In this sermon we discuss the Deuterocanonical Books of the Old and New Testaments, and also what the Catholic Church means by the phrase "deuterocanon" as compared to "apocrypha".
The seven Old Testament deuterocanonical books are: Tobit, Judith, Baruch, Wisdom, Sirach, 1 & 2 Maccabees (and parts of Esther snd Daniel).
The seven New Testament deuterocanonical books are: Hebrews, James, 2 Peter, 2 & 3 John, Jude, and Revelation. Martin Luther went so far as to explicitly reject both Letters of James and of St Paul to the Hebrews!
