The acts of the penitent are: contrition, confession, and satisfaction. We discuss what each of these entails. Finally, we discuss the history of the Church and how the different aspects of confession have been emphasized in different eras of Church history.

Because All Saints Day falls on a Saturday, it is not a Holy Day of Obligation in our Diocese this year.

Friday, October 31 -- 7am daily Mass. Confessions are 4:30-5:30pm, followed by devotions. NO 5:30pm Mass.
Saturday, November 1st -- 9am Sung Latin Mass (All Saints). Confessions 4:30-5:30pm. Saturday evening Mass 5:30pm (All Souls).
Sunday, November 2nd -- 9am Solemn Mass (All Souls), 11:30am Low Mass (All Souls).

Soon to be Saint Bartolo Longo had fallen away from his Catholic upbringing when he attended college - even abandoning the faith and becoming a Satanic Priest. He was converted through the Rosary and became a saint by promoting and propagating the Rosary! He also established the Shrine of Our Lady Queen of the Rosary of Pompeii. He died 5 October 1926.
