Sunday Sermon, October 26th -- What is Necessary for Confession
The parable of the pharisee and the tax collector reminds us of the importance of confession.
The acts of the penitent are: contrition, confession, and satisfaction. We discuss what each of these entails. Finally, we discuss the history of the Church and how the different aspects of confession have been emphasized in different eras of Church history.

Parish Schedule October 31 and November 1
Because All Saints Day falls on a Saturday, it is not a Holy Day of Obligation in our Diocese this year.
There is a typo in the bulletin - the correct parish schedule is as follows:
Friday, October 31 -- 7am daily Mass. Confessions are 4:30-5:30pm, followed by devotions. NO 5:30pm Mass.
Saturday, November 1st -- 9am Sung Latin Mass (All Saints). Confessions 4:30-5:30pm. Saturday evening Mass 5:30pm (All Souls).
Sunday, November 2nd -- 9am Solemn Mass (All Souls), 11:30am Low Mass (All Souls).

Adult Faith Formation, The Books of Maccabees - October 14th, Session 1 -- Introduction and History
In this course, we will discuss 1 and 2 Maccabees, as well as the book of Daniel, and even some apocryphal books.
In our first class, we review the outline of the course and also watch a short video about the history of the Maccabean revolt.
Sunday Sermon, October 12th -- On Gratitude
"Gratitude is the first sign of the thinking, rational creature." Blessed Solanus Casey.
We discuss the virtue of gratitude, where it fits schema of the virtues and the moral life, and some ideas of how to grow in gratitude.

Sunday Sermon, October 5th -- St Bartolo Longo and the Rosary
Soon to be Saint Bartolo Longo had fallen away from his Catholic upbringing when he attended college - even abandoning the faith and becoming a Satanic Priest. He was converted through the Rosary and became a saint by promoting and propagating the Rosary! He also established the Shrine of Our Lady Queen of the Rosary of Pompeii. He died 5 October 1926.
